Club Racing

Welcome To the Gold Coast Region:

As a member of the PCA Gold Coast Region, you are now involved with the single largest PCA Club Race in the world. The Gold Coast Region and Suncoast Region jointly put on the "48 Hours at Sebring" PCA club race the second Friday of each February. As the name indicates, the race is held at the legionary Sebring International Raceway in Sebring Florida.  All drivers are members like you ranging from Porsche enthusiasts learning the sport through our autocross and high performance education programs to professional race car drivers.

The 1st race was in 1994 and was held as a 2-day event.  Today, the race has grown to be consistently the largest PCA club race and is held over a 4-day race schedule with over 350 entrants and 3,000 racers, crews, PCA members and spectators coming together at one time.  In 2008, over 100 factory prepared CUP Cars were registered in the 48 Hours at Sebring, again the largest collection of CUP cars together at one time in the world.

Also in 2008 we ran our inaugural Night-Race, the only PCA club with a night race program.  Seeing these cars racing through the corners at night is a vision to remember; headlights in the dark as they approach you, the red glow of the rotors as they break into the corner, and tail lights as they go by; what a sight!  Our night program runs on Thursday & Friday night, you have got to see it!

As the co-chairman of this event, I would like to invite you to join us next February. The event is totally free for all PCA members, families, and friends. You can come as a spectator, volunteer, Advanced Solo driver, or racer, but you must come see the most exciting event your region has to offer.

If you decide to come as a volunteer, you have the opportunity to get closer to the action than anyone else, working side-by-side with our paid SCCA corner workers.  The only way to get closer to the action is to drive.

I look forward to meeting you at an upcoming event, and again in Sebring, next February. For more information you can visit our web site at www.48hoursatsebring.com or the Club Racing page at pca.org
